Vila Iris
Your Chisinau Retreat
First Impressions
Walking up to Vila Iris on Dacia Boulevard, you immediately get the sense this isn’t your typical chain hotel — and honestly, that’s exactly what makes it special. The three-star property sits quietly on one of Chişinău’s main arteries, but there’s something refreshingly personal about the whole setup. I mean, you can tell from the moment you step inside that someone actually cares about this place, which explains why so many guests keep coming back.
Location & Neighborhood
The spot on Dacia Boulevard is pretty much perfect if you want to actually experience Chişinău rather than just pass through it. You’re close enough to the city center that everything’s walkable, but far enough out that you’re not dealing with constant traffic noise. What I really appreciated was how couples seem to gravitate toward this area — there’s something about the tree-lined streets and the mix of Soviet-era architecture with newer developments that creates this unexpectedly romantic atmosphere. You know what’s great? You can walk to most of the main sights, but you’re also right where locals actually live and work.
The Experience
Here’s the thing about Vila Iris — it’s not trying to be something it’s not, and that authenticity really comes through. The rooms are comfortable without being flashy, clean without being sterile. You get the sense that they’ve figured out what travelers actually need rather than what some corporate manual says they should want. The staff genuinely seems to know their regular guests, which makes sense given how many people apparently return here. It’s that kind of place where they remember your coffee preference by day three.
The Food Scene
I’ll be honest — I wasn’t expecting much from the dining situation, but the food here actually surprised me. Whatever they’re doing in the kitchen, it’s working, because meal after meal was genuinely good. Not just “good for hotel food,” but actually good. The portions are generous (this is Moldova, after all), and there’s a real focus on local ingredients and traditional preparations. You can taste the difference when someone’s actually putting effort into the cooking rather than just reheating pre-made stuff.
Why Guests Love It
The repeat guest thing really tells you everything you need to know about Vila Iris. People don’t keep coming back to a place unless it consistently delivers something special — and in this case, it’s that combination of solid comfort, genuine hospitality, and being right in the heart of things without the chaos. For couples especially, there’s something about the whole experience that just works. Maybe it’s the quiet evenings on Dacia Boulevard, or the way the staff treats you like actual people rather than room numbers. Either way, if you’re looking for a place that feels more like staying with knowledgeable local friends than checking into a generic hotel, this is your spot.

Guest Reviews
Vila Iris was a great choice. Close to Supermarket, National football stadium, Andy's Restaurant and the Black Goose Pizza take away is literally under the entrance stairs to Vila Iris. It's black base pizzas are unique and delicious.
Nina at reception was fantastic and organised taxis for me to and from the airport, and an amazing 5 hour trip to Transnistria in a Mercedes car for 100euros. Another fantastic experience despite UK Government advise not to travel there.
Excellent value for money, and in a really good location if staying for ease of acccess to the nearby airport.
Breakfast: appreciated that there was more choice than at Vila Iris. The glasses should however have been properly dried as the one I took stuck to the one below it.
Affordable and in easy reach for the airport. 10 minutes in a taxi.
The staff are friendly, hotel is ideal for my purpose and very well priced. It is handy for the airport which I use as I live in Ukraine.
Location, breakfast, cozy rooms
ALL GOOD
I needed a location near the airport, so this was a perfect match for me. There is a grocery store and a bar/restaurant nearby, as well as a bus stop right next to the hotel, making it easy to reach other parts of the city
Big room 👍
The property's location near the airport was very convenient. There were also several good dining options within close proximity.
