Tulip Residence & Spa Hotel
Your Chisinau Retreat
First Impressions
Walking into Tulip Residence & Spa Hotel, you immediately sense this isn’t your typical business hotel. The lobby has this understated elegance that feels more like a boutique property than a standard four-star place. What struck me most was how quiet everything felt, despite being right in the heart of Chişinău — there’s something about the way they’ve designed the space that just absorbs the city noise.
Location & Neighborhood
The hotel sits on Arheolog Ion Casian Suruceanu street, which honestly sounds intimidating if you don’t speak Romanian, but it’s actually perfectly positioned. You’re close enough to the main attractions that you can walk to most places, but far enough from the tourist chaos to get a real feel for how locals live. I noticed couples seem to particularly love this spot — and I get why, because there are some genuinely romantic little cafes and wine bars within a few blocks that you’d never find in guidebooks.
The Room Experience
My room was larger than I expected, with this interesting mix of modern amenities and subtle nods to Moldovan design. The bed was genuinely comfortable — not just hotel-marketing comfortable — and the bathroom had one of those rainfall showers that actually works properly. What I appreciated most was the attention to small details, like having enough outlets near the bed and blackout curtains that actually block light. The spa facilities are a nice touch too, though I’d recommend booking treatments in advance since word seems to be getting out about this place.
Breakfast & Dining
The continental breakfast here is honestly better than what you’ll find at most places in this price range. They’ve got the usual suspects — pastries, eggs, coffee — but they also include some local specialties that give you a taste of Moldova without being too adventurous for picky eaters. The restaurant staff seemed to genuinely care about the food quality, which you notice in little things like the bread being actually fresh and the coffee being properly hot. There’s also decent parking if you’re driving, which isn’t always a given in this part of the city.
Why Guests Love It
With a 9.5 rating, this place is clearly doing something right, and after staying here, I think it comes down to consistency. Everything works the way it should, the staff knows what they’re doing without being overly formal, and you get genuine value for what you pay. It’s the kind of hotel where you’d feel comfortable bringing your parents or impressing a date — versatile in a way that’s actually pretty rare. The location really is excellent, and you’ll understand why couples rate it so highly once you start exploring the neighborhood together.

The view of the room was exceptional. Panoramic to the city. Wine as a welcome gift was a perfect idea :) Ordered in room service, as it was late and I was super hungry, and the food was amazing, especially beef tartar. I will stay here again.
